Update - Margalla Avenue Project

@B.R. Malik. I saw that program too and in fact he was talking about two different things which got mixed up in the conversation. When he was talking about road infrastructure, he mentioned the construction of 10 lane signal free expressway till rawat. In the same flow he also stated that they will also extend the routes of metro bus from rawat to aabpara and from wah and taxila also. I don't think he mentioned margalla avenue.

Plus, you can be certain that the rawat to aapbara/zero point project is quite likely to be the next one as it mostly covers the constituency of Ch. Nisar i.e. NA-52.

Another good news for the zone 2 metro will connect Taxilla with Islamabad naturally it will pass from or near zone 2.

Do we have enough money to compelte these big projects which only belongs to Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Then what will remaion for the developmen tof other cities and districts of Punjab. Moreover, If we are spending all money on infrastructure (road and metros) then how much will left for the most important sectors like Education and Health. We are not oil rich country. Believe me this government sent request of laon for 125 million $ to rehablitate the flood areas. We will take this loan and will distribute half money to people and half our our pocket and will wait for next year flood. Come on guys wake up

So whats happening to the good old MA, any updates ? anyone travelling on it yet ?

I have traveled around a month back. Came back from B-17 to D-12. A lot of bridges yet to be started. Graveyard issue still the same.

Also a new item appeared in Dawn about C-15. C sectors and MA issue is connected.

The situation is the same. If CDA makes payment to contractor next month, work will “start”. It is unlikely to “finish” anytime soon though. Redesigning of the route to bypass the graveyard will on all probability require a revision of PC-I. The case might need to be referred to the Cabinet Division for approval rather than the CDA board due to the significant change in costing.

I’m getting nauseated with this Margalla Avenue…

So in theory , if you have a car with good clearing you can live in B17 and travel on MA, avoiding the terrible Tarnol route and signals on Kashmir highway

An important meeting of CDA is likely to be held next week which will, among other things, decide on the way forward for Margalla Avenue. Lets hope something good happens.

Is it confirm news ?

So far it is confirmed. Atleast the item is included in the agenda of the meeting. Now lets see.

By “way forward” do you mean just restarting construction work on the project or are they going to discuss about what to do with the last 3 km patch which passes through graveyard?

Any update on margalla Avenue?

Dear Ali,

I hope it will be complete in this year according to Multi management.

Regards

Nadeem sb, ye road multi management ne nahi, CDA nay banani hai! LOL!

CDA board has agreed to pay escalation charges to the contractor of MA which will probably help to accelarate the halt down process(daily Jang 22 Dec).

Date may please be corrected, its 22nd of January not December.

Some real state firms also quoting

The NHA and CDA are finally agreed to construct bridge over Quberistan area, the main hurdle in completion of MA. But I think if CDA planned to launch C-15/16 in March 2015, they will and have to show work in real and at ground going on at MA.

Yes. CDA has to show some thing. Can any one guide if it’s worth to buy plots of C-15 n 16 ? Currently 50x90 plots/ files are available for 70-75 Lakh. I assume these plots are of land owners who gave over 4 kanal or more to CDA and got allotment letter of the C sectors which are transferable.
