Update - Margalla Avenue Project

Sorry to break this bad news but this project is not included in the CDA annual plan for this year either. Therefore, CDA has not allocated even a single rupee for this phase of MA in its current year's budget. If you read my earlier post above, I had hinted about this.

On the other hand, the two other projects that I had mentioned have both received healthy allocations in the budget.

It will be on the go. …If not now then it will be. Coz CDA c sectors are nothing without this.

It will be completed, most likely by the present government. Its just that it doesn’t seem to be happening in the current financial year. When they will turn their attention towards it, it will be finished within 6 months max.

Agreed but I think MA will never be like KH, it is zig zag road.

CDA had already allocated complete budget of this project in previous years which is not yet consumed thats why MA dont need of any fresh allocation. However CDA has allocated the budget of MA phase 2. Rs 8 billion CDA is targeting to get from the sale of plots in C series which is not possible wothout MA

There is amount in the current budget for MA indirectly. Moreover, the funds which were announced last year are also reserved till now. This road will be completed sooner or later. My guess is that govt will focus on it during their last year of current tenure , 6-7 months before elections just to attract the public of KPK and upper punjab areas including Attock etc.

The most important which i mentioned in my earlier posts that Margalla Avenue and AWT interchange are politically connected to each other.

Cda facebook said palns shall be gievn in late october … Hoping for the best

Rs 500 Mn allocated in cda budget2015/16 for Margalla Avenue Ph 2…

That is true and just for the sake of clarification, let it be known that Phase II of Margalla Avenue is the section from constitution avenue to Murree Road (near Bhara Kahu).

If CDA wants to work on the D-12 to GT road section, it will either need a supplementary grant or drop any of the existing approved projects for this year and divert the funds.

Funds allocated in a financial year lapse on 30th June and are unavailable after that, unless a fresh allocation/provision is made in the following year's budget.

No one in this govt. Cares about existing prokects , no one even in media , 50 crore already spent but no more funding

people should arrange a protest to highlight this important issue

Kashif I dont think so because budget was not allocated in 2014 and 2013 as well but work was carried on because budget was already allocated in 2012. Moreover CDA is targeting to get 8 billion rupees from sale of C series plots which is not pissible without work on MA

Imran even without margalla avenue C series plots shall sell like hot hot cakes … Cda dont need work on ground to prove anything

Ye Multi wale aur topcity wale dono apni apni road ka rona rote rahain ge. Ab dekhain govt kab in bachon ko koi toffee de ke chup karati hai?!!

Aaj kal DHA waalay bachay bhi apna 10-lane signal free Lollipop maang rahay Hein. Ab deikhein Multi walo Ko toffee kab milti hay, top city walo Ko candy kaisay miltti hai aUrr DHA walo Ko Lollipop kon daita hay.

Haha haha.

Yaaar this loolipop can chnage many lifes instantkky , alot people waiting for many years now for MA … Lol

Entire GT road people are either in politics or in real estate business

Interesting analogies being used! However, it seems so true that almost all major residential projects in twin cities are heavily relying on successful completion of one govt project or another. I don't know if this is a good thing or bad.

On the one hand, one may argue that using public funds for undertaking projects that mainly benefit private society investors is unfair. On the other hand, it is also true that people living in these societies are also citizens of the city & it is the govts job to provide better facilities to all citizens without bias. Either way, I am confident that those waiting for their toffees, candies, lollypops etc. Will all get their treat in due time. Patience is a virtue.

@Muhammad Imran. CDA did not make any payments to the contractor in the years that you have mentioned. No pay, no play. Simple. This project will be restarted (whenever) now with a revised cost. Previous budget estimates are out of the window.

Multi , wapda and awt are heavily dependent on these.

There were pc-1 approval done like sometime back
