No work is going on. I have visited M.A recently. So far no work has started because of complex legal issue between contractor and CDA.
Til the completion of signal free expressway, I don’t think CDA will touch another massive project simultaneously…
What about Kashmir highway project?
margalla avenue amongst others will help residents of Taxila and Wah,Ch,Nisar is one of the key cabinet minister and he is not able to push a 10 km road for 3 years in govt.
This road if properly fenced with controlled openings like motorway can address number of issues,like economical housing for people working in Isb.,reduce trend of slums and illegal housing -what Supreme Court is asking ,reduce population pressure on zone 5 and so on.
I think that CDA is trying to delay it so they are able to sell plots at astronomical prices in Zone 1 and continue managing their salary budgets.what a pity that a organization meant to develop the capital is neither developing nor has any vision to take Isb to its future.
How much work on the project is completed
A patch of 2 km near D-12 remains… I think last time I measured it on google, it was 3 km so maybe they have added another 1 km to it but I am not sure… A dealer did tell me that work is going on but you can never trust what a dealer says lolz
I have first hand information about recent status. 2 KM PATCH is remaining because of graveyard issue near Alladatta village. All bridges need to be built up. And carpeting of road is remaining.
In short no hope at least for next six months:(

If all the legal/financial hurdles are removed than it can be finished in two months. But this is a big IF.

Forget it bro … Ot gonna happen unless some high ups really think it should be done which is not near priorities of the govt.
CDA has recently allocated budget for margalla avenue. On the other hand cda is planning to open new sectors C 15 and C 16. Brochures for plot one Kanal (100) and 5 marlas (200) after Eid are becoming very soon. Now CDA will give full attention to Margalla

Project started 4 years ago. Contract for the 9km long Margalla Avenue, designed to link Islamabad’s Sector D-12 with GT Road, was awarded by CDA in June 2012 for completion in one year. After some initial work, a dispute erupted between the CDA and the contractors. The work on the project has been at a standstill now for over two years.
