Update - Margalla Avenue Project

Have any visited the Margalla Avenue near Peshwar Mor Area ? is there any development ? And from which point it will connect to Motorway ?

@Furqan Hameed. There is practically no activity going on and this section of MA will not be finished anytime soon. As present government is more interested in building section-III (const. Avenue to Muree Expressway) first. However, when it does get built it will link with motorway through the sangjani/awt interchange.

Also, there is no Margalla avenue near Peshawar Mor. MA stretches from D-12 to Sangjani.

Thanks dear. But jab b bany gy zone 2 will be at boom . I.A

Well I have good expectations with the current government as they really like making roads and flyovers etc…

According to Multi Office, work on MA has resumed albeit at a slower pace. Anyone visited D12, B17 stretch ?

Zafar bhai ... I have not visited but I have the same info as you do.

This road cannot be shelved or stopped. The C-sectors are dependent upon it and so much work has been done already (take a look):-

I will say there is no better time than right now to invest in Multigarden.

Zafar Sb… We need to confirm this news on ground. Anyone else knows about this? It would be very helpful if someone can tell us the ground situation.

As i said before that this project cant be put in a coffin, CDA has taken innitiative and approved the project and worked and completed around 60%. If it was still in planning stages and on paper then it could have been put to bed but now its a project which have to complete and complete it within this fiscal year.

Moreover C sectors are directly connected with it and no other road touches those sectors, so if they want to develop those sectors in next years, they need MA for that.

Grt news if its true

I took the effort to drive on the small road (Shah allah ditta road) which moves Parallel to MA 2 weeks before Eid Ul Azha from B-17 to D-12.

All i saw were 1 heavy vehicle leveling the gravel (Bajri) and 1 doser and 1 truck clearing a small mountain for alignment purposes. Other than that nothing on the ground with very slow progress on the ground. My assessment is that project is only 40% completed as it requires couple of small pulleys and bridges to be built along with finishing the semi carpeted road (not semi carpeted throughout the 9km stretch)

However i can tell you this that the time it would take me to go from B-17 via kashmire highway to F-10 (Perfect road) was more than what took me via the small broken / flooded / single lane shah alla ditta road (parallel to MA) to F-10. Imagine when the road is completed how quickly will you enter ISB from this route. Maybe 10 minutes you will touch MA E-11.

I wish the project gets completed ASAP.

I think it should be made upto D-12 and then turned towards Kashmir Highway through the 12th Avenue instead which can save thousands of trees. As already too much deforestation has took place which has in turn made islamabad hot.

Thanks haseeb for update

Well i must say, i am not being biased or anything as i admit i have personal investment in B17. If MA gets operational, B17 will become one of the hottest locations in islamabad. What i am forecasting is next year will be a good year for b17.

Yea u will see better scenario in coming year inshallah

In all sectors of zone 2

Kindly see the updated google earth images I think more than 60% work is completed. Apart from area near D 12 progress is good.

I have a question! Yesterday i visited Cda.gov.pk and it says under the heading of future projects margalla avenue road from d12 to GT road and tender under acceptance! Dont they update it regularly or is it still under the process of tendering as i think about 60% of work is completed on that particular project.

Up dating webpage is not something that CDA is worried about

Dear All: Very interesting debate. One question is still not clear i.e. From where MA will touch the GT Road and then Moter way. There are two options:

  1. Option-1: It will touch GT road at Sangjani and then will touch Motorway at AWT and WAPDA Town.

  2. Option-2: MA will touch GT road at B-17 (Multi) then through Multi it will touch Motorway.

My question is which option is on card so that we all can plan accordingly.

I visited Wapda Town on this weekend and found the development is going on. Standard of already built road is good and at one point it’s connected with AWT and then AWT already done its work to connect it with motorway. So connection with motorway from AWT (Wapda Town through AWT) is all set but they are waiting for permission from government. I asked the question one of the person there and he replied me that everything is ready from our side but Ch. Majeed is putting some hurdles to get access to AWT through motorway. Ch. Majeed is fighting for Multi exit. So Dont know who will win. These are my findings of my visit to WAPDA Town and AWT.

Regards

Option 1 is feasible . AWT is also stronger backed by army.
