Rawalpindi: The Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company (PRMSC) has announced a major initiative to modernise 31 old and densely populated villages across all six districts of the Rawalpindi Division, declaring them as model villages. The project, with a total approved cost of over PKR 3.38 billion, aims to upgrade municipal services and improve living standards in these historic settlements.
Under the plan, residents will benefit from enhanced water, electricity, gas, sewerage, and drainage systems. Streets, lanes, and pathways will be paved, while sanitation services will be strengthened, and washroom culture promoted. The project also includes improved transport links, with dual carriage roads connecting each village to nearby markets and towns.
