Quetta: The Balochistan government has reviewed progress on the first phase of the Sui Master Plan, which includes illuminated roads, a modern sewerage system, a stadium, parks, bus and truck terminals, and other civic facilities.
The progress was reviewed at a meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and attended by provincial officials, project stakeholders and representatives of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL).
The meeting was informed that the projects under the first phase would be jointly funded by the Balochistan government and PPL on a 50:50 basis to facilitate their timely completion and improve civic infrastructure in Sui.
The chief minister directed authorities to ensure construction quality and said strict legal action would be taken against firms or individuals found responsible for substandard work.
He said the government’s priority was to provide basic civic facilities to the people of Sui and develop the town into a modern civic city. He also directed officials to closely monitor the projects and ensure their timely completion.
The first phase includes the construction of illuminated roads, a modern sewerage system, Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Stadium, a ladies park, a bus terminal and a truck stand, along with other essential civic facilities.
CM Bugti said officials should take personal responsibility for monitoring the projects and ensure that the facilities were delivered to the public according to the required standards.
Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Finance Secretary Jahangir Khan, Project Director Rafiq Baloch and other senior officials attended the meeting. Representatives of PPL, along with officials from Sibi division and Dera Bugti, also participated through video link.
