Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to speed up work on stalled housing sectors and prepare development plans for new ones, as part of a broader drive to improve civic facilities in the federal capital.
Chairing a high-level meeting at CDA Headquarters on Saturday, Naqvi said that long-delayed development in sectors E-12 and I-12 must be completed without further delay so that allottees can finally be given possession. He also ordered faster progress on the under-construction sectors C-14, C-15, and C-16.
At the same time, the CDA has been tasked with preparing a comprehensive development plan for new sectors, including C-13, D-13, E-13, and F-13, to meet Islamabad’s growing housing demand.

The meeting also approved key infrastructure projects to ease traffic flow in the city. These include a flyover at T-Chowk and an underpass at Shaheen Chowk, with groundbreaking scheduled for early September. Naqvi also launched Phase One of the Diplomatic Enclave Upgradation Project, which will cover road improvements, boundary walls, cycling tracks, and a park.
Housing societies were cautioned to strictly comply with regulations or face disciplinary action. The minister further ordered a city-wide operation against encroachments, setting September 30 as the deadline for clearing affected sectors.
Other initiatives reviewed included the remodeling of Daman-e-Koh to facilitate visitors, acceleration of the Model Jail project, and groundwork for two new five-star hotels in the capital by year-end. A site has also been allocated for a new Capital House.
The meeting was attended by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, CDA members, SSP Operations, ADCG, and other senior officials.
