Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday (May 19) announced that the tenders to award construction contracts for storm drains in sectors I-11/1 and I-12/1 would be issued before the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, according to the authority’s official Facebook page. In this regard, the authority has also issued directives to the department concerned.
Reportedly, these measures are being taken in line with the CDA’s decision to compete the development work in stalled sectors; and are also expected to boost residential development in the sectors where construction work has remained pending for the last several decades.
The company selected for the project will be tasked with establishing a proper network for the drainage of rainwater from the roads and streets of the sectors mentioned.
The PC-I and PC-IV for carrying out development work in Sector I-11 was approved in the CDA Development Working Party’s 45th meeting held in October 2019. Soon afterwards, the departments concerned were directed to finalise the requirements for initiating the development-related processes.
