Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has served notices to homeowners using domestic properties for commercial purposes, reported a news source. The agency’s drive is focused on properties located on Murree Road – between Mareer Chowk and Faizabad.
RDA will start its crackdown on January 21 against all identified violators in the area. Reportedly, RDA has asked the property owners to seize all commercial operations on their domestic properties. Individuals found noncompliant will have their properties sealed within a weeks’ time.
Commercial usage of residential properties without notification causes financial losses to development authorities. Reportedly, the notices have made the property owners anxious – with many having challenged them in court. The petitioners have accused RDA of harassing them, and have requested the court to nullify the agency’s intimations.
