Islamabad: The government has officially announced the public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, March 20 and 21 will be observed as holidays across Pakistan. The decision comes following the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The holidays will apply to all offices, including those following five-day and six-day workweeks, allowing employees and officials to celebrate the festive occasion with their families.

Authorities have emphasized that essential services will continue to operate during this period to ensure public convenience. With Sunday, March 22, being a weekly holiday and Monday, March 23, a public holiday in observance of Pakistan Day, citizens are set to enjoy a four-day long weekend.
The Cabinet Division noted that these annual holidays are intended to facilitate smooth celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr while providing necessary rest to the workforce.
