Lahore: The Excise & Taxation Department (E&T) has notified the deadline for clearance of property dues for the outgoing (fiscal year) FY2018-19, a news source reported.
It has asked the property owners, who have outstanding tax balances, to clear their dues by June 30 in order to avoid penalties and legal action.
In an official statement, E&T Director Shakeel-ur-Rehman categorically warned that from July onwards, the department will take strict action against property tax defaulters.
The authorities concerned recently took some important measures (including installing banners and flexes in various private and public residential schemes) to apprise the public about the initiative.
Moreover, the department has instructed its staff to cooperate with those seeking assistance on dues clearance. To facilitate this measure, the E&T department has announced that its offices, along with branches of the National Bank, will remain open on Sunday (June 30).
