Faisalabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced on Wednesday that Faisalabad will launch a metro bus service next year, aimed at improving public transportation in the city. Speaking at the Laptop and Honhaar Scholarship Phase-II ceremony at GC University Faisalabad, she also revealed plans to introduce green electric buses as part of the city’s sustainable transport initiative.
The Chief Minister further shared that a comprehensive Faisalabad Development Plan would be initiated, modeled after Lahore’s successful urban development framework. The plan includes upgrading rural settlements within the Faisalabad division into model villages, ensuring balanced and uniform development alongside urban centers.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of national unity and the bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces, praising their historic victory and emphasizing how the entire nation stood united behind them during challenging times. “The historic victory united the entire nation,” she said, crediting the combined efforts of the military and the people.
The metro bus service and green electric bus project are expected to ease traffic congestion, reduce pollution, and provide an efficient, eco-friendly mode of transport to residents of Faisalabad.
