Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday announced a comprehensive relief package for flood-affected communities, pledging financial assistance for farmers, homeowners, and livestock owners.
Under the package, farmers will receive PKR 20,000 per acre to help restore their livelihoods. Families whose houses were fully destroyed will be compensated with PKR 1 million, while those with partially damaged homes will get PKR 500,000.
Compensation has also been announced for livestock losses: PKR 500,000 for cows and buffaloes, and PKR 50,000 for goats and sheep.

The chief minister praised the coordinated efforts of the Pakistan Army, Navy, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, Police, and local administration in conducting timely evacuations and relief operations. She also commended her cabinet members for remaining in the field during the crisis.
“Our commitment is not just to provide financial aid but to help families rebuild their lives and livelihoods,” she said.
