Islamabad: The government has revealed its ease of doing business roadmap for the petroleum sector, a news source reported. Special Assistant to Prime Minister (PM) on Petroleum Nadeem Babar shared the plan on Thursday. Through this initiative, the government expects to eliminate ‘red-tapism’ in gaining approvals for investment and advancement in various fields.
Babar said that the Petroleum Division had prepared a prudent strategy for attracting local and foreign investments as per PM Imran Khan’s vision. He said that this strategy would bring policy reforms, along with introducing much ease of doing business in the sector. He added that the latter would be implemented instantly, while the policy reforms would take some time for formal approval.
Babar also stated that the government had divided the petroleum sector into five key areas. These include Oil & Gas Exploration and Production (E&P), Pipelines & Gas Distribution, Refining and Marketing, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
