Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved the hiring of creative consultants as part of an initiative aimed at developing Islamabad as a tourism and cultural hub.
The decision was taken during the third CDA Board meeting held at the CDA Headquarters, chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf. Senior officials and board members also attended the meeting.
According to officials, the consultants, described as a “city curator” team, will be engaged to support efforts to improve the capital’s urban design, landscaping, and overall aesthetic appeal. Their scope of work will include the development and enhancement of parks, green belts, and public spaces across Islamabad.

Officials said the initiative is part of a broader vision to position Islamabad as a more vibrant, modern, and attractive city for both residents and visitors. The consultants will also help improve the visual character of key urban areas while supporting planning efforts for public spaces.
The CDA leadership said the move is intended to strengthen Islamabad’s identity as a destination for culture and tourism, while also improving the quality of urban life through better-designed public infrastructure and green environments.
