Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Tuesday instructed all relevant authorities to ensure the timely completion of ongoing development projects by the end of the current fiscal year. The directive came during a comprehensive review meeting focused on the Annual Development Programme (ADP) progress across multiple provincial departments.
The marathon session, lasting over seven hours, included participation from cabinet members, the additional chief secretary (Planning), administrative secretaries, and senior officials from departments such as Higher Education, Health, Livestock, Agriculture, Revenue, and Communication and Works. Department heads presented detailed progress reports on their respective projects.

CM Gandapur emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines without compromising the quality of work. He also underscored the necessity of utilizing 100 percent of allocated development funds before the fiscal year closes.
Looking ahead to the next budget cycle, the Chief Minister highlighted the priority of completing projects that have achieved at least 80 percent physical progress. He called for expediting these to ensure timely delivery.
Gandapur further stressed that proposals for new projects should focus on broad public interest and deliver sustainable, long-term benefits. He reminded officials that development funds originate from public taxes and must be spent responsibly on initiatives that provide direct advantages to the people.
Food security emerged as a critical issue in the meeting, with the Chief Minister urging proactive measures. He stressed the vital role of the livestock sector in achieving self-sufficiency and called for modernization and restructuring to unlock its full potential. Projects aimed at enhancing livestock productivity and employment generation were encouraged for inclusion in the upcoming ADP.
