Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a province-wide e-stamping system to enhance transparency, prevent forgery, and improve service delivery, officials said. A formal notification issued on Wednesday under the Registration Act, 1908, makes digital stamp papers mandatory for all official purposes.
According to the notification, starting September 1, 2025, only e-stamp papers will be considered valid in the province. The use of manual stamp papers has been completely prohibited with immediate effect, and all registration offices and relevant institutions have been instructed to accept only digital stamp papers from the specified date onward.

The Revenue Department highlighted that the e-stamping system aims to eliminate flaws in the traditional stamp paper system, reduce fraudulent practices, and provide the public with faster, more reliable, and transparent services. Officials also said the shift to digital stamp papers is expected to increase government revenue and improve the accuracy and security of official records.
The notification further directs all registrars to strictly implement the new system, ensuring that manual stamp papers are no longer used or accepted in any registration office. The move is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to digitize services and strengthen governance across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
