Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved the Women Property Rights Rules 2025 to protect women’s inheritance rights, alongside a Rs1 billion grant-in-aid for the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) and other tourism bodies to improve infrastructure, beautification, and sanitation at tourist sites.
The decisions came during the cabinet’s 39th meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. Advisor on Information Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif briefed the media, highlighting that the new rules will safeguard women’s rightful share in property and strengthen the Provincial Women Commission through fresh appointments.
The cabinet also introduced a Mountain Agriculture Policy and a Pharmacy Services Policy—both first-of-their-kind in the country. The agriculture policy aims to boost food security by promoting off-season produce and advanced research, while the pharmacy policy is designed to ensure the availability of safe, effective medicines and curb counterfeit drugs.
