Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced on Saturday that the government is planning a relief package for the construction sector, which may include reductions in tax rates for the property sector. The announcement was made during a speech at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional Office in Lahore.
Aurangzeb confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would soon unveil the construction sector relief package. He added that the government is also considering a relief package for the textile industry within the next ten to twelve days.
The Finance Minister highlighted that the government is committed to pursuing export-led growth and industrialisation to ensure sustained economic growth. He also noted that reducing tax rates for the property sector is under serious consideration as part of the broader economic relief measures.

Speaking to the business community, Aurangzeb emphasised that the construction industry is closely linked to multiple sectors of the economy, and that the government will address challenges faced by businesses in this sector to facilitate growth.
Officials from FPCCI and trade associations across major export sectors attended the event and presented sector-specific proposals to the Finance Minister for consideration in shaping the relief measures.
The government’s proposed measures aim to stimulate activity in the construction sector, support related industries, and create a conducive environment for investment in property and construction projects.
