Hyderabad: The Government of Sindh has declared six districts of the province as ‘calamity-affected areas’, as per a news report. These districts include Umerkot, Thatta, Dadu, Sanghar, and Kambar Shahdadkot.
The Sindh Relief Commissioner said that the cultivated crops in the mentioned districts have dried, and drought-like conditions have deteriorated the social conditions of the districts. The notification reads that the situation warrants action under the provisions of the Sindh Natural Calamities Act 1958.
The Sindh livestock department claims that it has set up 235 relief camps for livestock in the affected district, so that almost 3 million animals can be safely administered preventive vaccination.
