Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) Governing Body has approved the Terms of Reference (TORs) required to appoint a consultant for the formation of the Lahore Master Plan 2040 — which is expected to encompass both rural and urban areas of the city — a news source reported.
This information was shared in the 12th meeting of the LDA Governing Body that was held yesterday (November 26). LDA Vice Chairman S.M Imran presided over the meeting. During the session, LDA Director General Muhammad Usman Moazzam briefed the members on the decisions that had so far been finalised regarding the master plan.
The meeting also finalised the new Commercialisation Policy in accordance with the directives issued by the Supreme Court recently. The governing body amended the draft of Land Use Rules 2019 and decided to forward the draft to the Punjab Cabinet for final approval.
The amendment in Land Use Rules proposes that the percentage of the amenities plots in private housing schemes should remain the same as those available in LDA Private Housing Schemes Rules 2014.
In addition, the meeting members also agreed to use GIS mapping to prepare the Lahore Master Plan 2040. Furthermore, the appointment of a consultant in this regard will also be done in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority.
