Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is considering a proposal to construct a parking plaza or a commercial building at the site of several repossessed shops in Township, a news source reported.
The development authority had formed a special committee to take action against people who had first illegally allotted and then took possession of the 195 shops in Quaid-e-Azam Town, Jinnah Market Phase II. The committee repossessed the shop and recommended that it should be converted into a parking plaza. The convener of the committee, Shaikh Imtiaz Mehmood, submitted the recommendations with the governing body of the LDA.
According to details, the report submitted by Mehmood suggests that the area where the shops have been repossessed is perfect for establishing a multi-storey parking plaza in the area. The LDA had initially constructed 205 shops in Township area to auction but hadn’t been able to auction even a single one.
