Lahore: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has launched a phase-wise special cleaning operation in nine towns of the provincial capital under the Chief Minister’s Suthra Punjab vision.
As part of the initiative, a zero-waste operation has been rolled out in Gulberg Town, where over 1,000 sanitation workers and 134 operational vehicles are working to ensure improved cleanliness. Special attention is being given to 15 identified hotspot areas, with mechanical washing, manual sweeping, and scraping activities already completed along Ferozepur Road.
To strengthen waste collection, 170 loader rickshaws have been deployed across Gulberg for door-to-door service. Regular sweeping and washing are also being carried out on Main Boulevard Gulberg, MM Alam Road, Noor Jehan Road, and Ferozepur Road.

Early morning cleaning operations have been completed in key commercial areas such as Ali Zaib Road, Main Market, Mini Market, Liberty Market, and Barkat Market, while dedicated teams are active around Garden Town, Jevan Hana Pind, and Gaddafi Stadium.
The drive has also been extended to other busy parts of the city, including Kalma Chowk Flyover, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Model Town, Peco Road, Model Town Link Road, and the vicinity of Ittefaq Hospital.
LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din said the company is committed to ensuring zero-waste operations across Lahore. He stressed that container clearance and door-to-door waste collection are being carried out on a daily basis to maintain cleanliness standards in the city.
