Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced that the final phase of the Margalla Road project, connecting Margalla Avenue to Motorway M-1, is set for financial bidding.
The technical bids for the PKR 3.58 billion project have already been opened. The upcoming financial bids will determine the contractor for the construction of a 2.7-kilometre stretch of road, which will link Islamabad with the Peshawar Motorway.
The project also includes the construction of an interchange on the GT Road, with the road’s endpoint near the Sangjani Grid Station within Islamabad limits. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has simultaneously started constructing an adjacent 2.5-kilometre portion of the road in Rawalpindi, which will connect to M-1 near the AWT Housing Society.
CDA officials stated that work on the Margalla Road section will commence soon after the financial bids are opened.
