Mansehra: The National Highway Authority (NHA) on Wednesday proceeded to clear the city’s blocked Sathan Gali road for traffic — with the way having been blocked due to landslides caused by the recent rains in the area, a news source reported.
The Sathan Gali road connects Siran Valley with the Konsh Valley, and about a hundred villages in the Mansehra District. The residents of the villages had requested the government to clear the road for traffic. The blocked road was causing a shortage of food materials in the Konsh Valley and Siran Valley. Consequently, the NHA team reached the blocked segments of the said road with heavy machinery and cleared it from all obstacles.
Previously, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Laiq Mohammad Khan had announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had approved a fund of PKR 6 billion for the development of the Torghar Bridge. The bridge would be developed over the River Indus in the Kotkay area, and connect various areas of the Mansehra District.
