Islamabad: The cabinet has approved the amendments proposed to the blueprints of sectors G-13 and G-14, to facilitate the progress of the Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP), a news source reported. The Ministry of Housing & Works had requested for these changes in the original master plan design, which showed the Mauve Area reserved for institutions and offices.
The cabinet, led by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, gave its approval for changing the ‘use of land’ stipulations in the said sectors in order to ease the way for NPHP development.
According to the cabinet’s official statement, it has sanctioned ‘the change in land-use of Mauve Area in sectors G-13 and G-14 from construction of office buildings of attached departments, autonomous bodies, to construction of multi-purpose high-rise residential, office, and commercial buildings’.
The statement mentioned that this amendment is subject to clearance from the Capital Development Authority (CDA). An official from the Housing & Works department has revealed that a summary has been sent to the CDA for this purpose. He added that the PM’s housing programme is likely to begin in G-13.
