Karachi: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced a gas and condensate discovery at its Dars West-3 well, located in the Tando Allah Yar district of Sindh.
According to the company, the well was successfully drilled to a depth of 2,100 metres in the C-Sands of the Lower Goru Formation and tested using OGDC’s in-house technical expertise. During testing, Dars West-3 produced 9.70 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas along with 580 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate at a choke size of 36/64 inches. The wellhead flow pressure was recorded at 1,725 pounds per square inch (psi).

OGDC stated that the results confirm the hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru Formation in the Dars West area and strengthen the company’s resource base. The discovery reflects OGDC’s ongoing focus on aggressive exploration, effective reservoir evaluation, and timely development of indigenous energy resources.
Pipeline work is currently underway to connect the well to the KPD-TAY processing plant. Once completed, the produced gas will be processed and supplied to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) network, contributing to Pakistan’s national energy supply.
The Dars West Development and Production Lease joint venture is operated by OGDC, which holds a 77.5% working interest, while Government Holdings Private Ltd (GHPL) holds the remaining 22.5%.
