Khairpur: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on Tuesday announced the commencement of production from the Sahito-1 gas discovery in the Lower Goru Formation (Massive Sand) within the Khewari Exploration Licence in Sindh’s Khairpur district.
According to a company statement, the Sahito-1 well is currently producing 6.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. Production is expected to increase gradually following the planned expansion of surface facilities.
To enable early monetisation of the discovery, OGDCL installed a 6-inch, 5-kilometre flowline linking the well to the Suleman Gathering Facility. The gas is being processed at the Sinjhoro Plant before being injected into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network for distribution.

The company said the start of production reflects its ongoing efforts to efficiently develop and monetise Pakistan’s indigenous hydrocarbon resources.
OGDCL operates the Khewari Exploration Licence with a 75% working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds the remaining 25% stake.
The state-owned company is Pakistan’s largest exploration and production firm, with operations spanning exploration, drilling, production, reservoir management and engineering support services.
