Lahore: The Punjab government has set up an institutional framework for artificial intelligence by creating a dedicated AI cell comprising experts in AI, data, and software development. The initiative aims to integrate AI into government operations to improve efficiency, decision-making, and public service delivery.
According to sources at the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the AI cell will provide technical support across government departments, with engineers, data scientists, and solution architects working on projects that address departmental needs. A central AI model has been approved, and programme managers and technical leads have been appointed to oversee its implementation.
