Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the establishment of a modern Film and Music School in Lahore with an estimated cost of PKR 9.38 billion, aiming to promote formal education in film, music, theatre and performing arts.
According to official details, construction of the project is planned to begin in July 2026 and is expected to be completed by June 2029.
The proposed facility will span 144,875 square feet and will include classrooms, studios, theatres and other dedicated academic spaces for creative learning.

Officials said the institution will be equipped with soundproof classrooms, rehearsal halls, recording studios and advanced digital audio-visual laboratories to provide hands-on training for students. The campus will also feature a library, research centre, cafeteria and supporting facilities.
The government said the project is intended to position Lahore as a regional cultural hub and strengthen cultural tourism. It is also expected to create employment opportunities for artists, instructors, technicians and production staff across the creative sector.
