Lahore: The Punjab government has launched the eBIZ portal to simplify and digitise the process of obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and permits from government departments, in a move aimed at promoting e-governance and improving ease of doing business.
The portal was formally inaugurated by Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman during a meeting of the Administrative Secretaries’ Committee at the Civil Secretariat on Monday.
According to officials, the eBIZ platform will initially allow entrepreneurs and business owners to apply online for NOCs related to 30 different business types. The entire application, verification, and approval process will be digitally managed, eliminating the need for physical file submissions or visits to government offices.

Speaking at the launch, the chief secretary said the initiative is part of broader administrative reforms to improve service delivery and departmental performance. “The Punjab government is using IT to bring ease to people’s lives. Reforms are essential to improve efficiency and transparency,” he noted.
He directed the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to ensure that by December, all services provided by provincial departments, attached bodies, commissioners, deputy commissioners, and other offices are fully digitised through the platform.
Officials highlighted that the eBIZ portal builds on existing e-governance initiatives such as the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS) and e-Procurement, which have already introduced paperless working and transparency in government operations.
PITB Chairman also briefed the meeting on various ongoing e-governance projects designed to enhance efficiency and reduce bureaucratic hurdles.
The provincial government expects the eBIZ portal to ease business operations, cut processing times, and create a more investment-friendly environment in Punjab.
