Murree: The Punjab government has initiated a PKR 6 billion remodelling project for Mall Road, Murree, aiming to restore its historic design while improving facilities for residents and tourists.
Work on the project has already commenced following the demolition of an old building on the road to make way for redevelopment. The administration is acquiring approximately 20 kanals of land to complete the project.
Officials confirmed that affected individuals are being compensated for loss of business, cost of structures, and land acquisition in line with standard procedures.

The remodelling plan is designed to preserve the traditional and historic aesthetics of Mall Road while upgrading infrastructure and amenities. Authorities said the project will enhance visitor experience, provide better facilities for local residents, and strengthen the road’s appeal as a major tourist attraction.
The administration emphasized that careful planning and execution will ensure the historic character of Murree’s Mall Road is maintained even as modern facilities are introduced.
