He directed officials to ensure the immediate partition of land held in joint accounts, with each owner receiving a share according to their legally established ownership. He also ordered reports on cases involving individuals making claims without legal ownership of the property. The deputy commissioner further directed that action be recommended under the law against illegal occupants as well as individuals who submit false or baseless applications.
Captain (r) Nadeem Nasir said providing justice to citizens was the administration’s responsibility. He noted that more than 80% of cases pending before courts were related to land disputes. He said the speedy resolution of such disputes could help reduce the burden of cases on courts, police and revenue departments.
During the meeting, assistant commissioners presented cases from their respective tehsils, while station house officers (SHOs) of the relevant police stations also attended the proceedings.
