Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has inaugurated a lower primary school and a vocational training centre at its Maskan-e-Ravi low-cost housing project, furthering efforts to uplift local communities through education and skill development.
The facilities, launched on Thursday by RUDA Chief Operating Officer Mansoor Ahmed Janjua, have been set up in collaboration with the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC). Speaking at the inauguration, Janjua said the 100-unit Maskan-e-Ravi scheme is designed to provide deserving families with a comfortable lifestyle alongside access to quality education and practical skills, in line with the vision of the Punjab chief minister.

RUDA Director Special Initiatives Fatima Ali Khan noted that the training centre is particularly aimed at empowering women through courses in sewing, tailoring, and other employable skills. She said the initiative would create new income opportunities and promote greater economic independence for women in the community.
Representatives from the Punjab Skills Development Authority (PSDA) and PVTC were also present at the ceremony, with both organisations invited to support the project as a model of integrated community development.
Earlier this year, the Punjab chief minister inaugurated the Maskan-e-Ravi housing project, which seeks to provide low-cost housing paired with essential services to uplift underprivileged families.
