Sialkot: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated Sialkot Airport’s international terminal on Monday, according to a news source. Abbasi termed the facility as the “world’s first successful greenfield airport”.
Addressing the ceremony, Abbasi said that unlike other greenfield airports, the Sialkot International Airport continuously expanded with favourable outcomes and it will prove to be a significant milestone for the country.
Abbasi praised the efforts of the local business community for airport’s construction. He also indicated that interests have been shown by businessmen from Faisalabad to establish a similar facility in their locality, for which the government is willing to extent support.
