Peshawar: Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has decided to issue notices to the housing schemes which have not procured a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the competent authority, a news source reported. To deal with such cases of noncompliance, the WSSP will sever sewerage connections to these schemes till their management acquires the necessary approvals.
WSSP CEO Syed Zafar Ali Shah issued these directive during a meeting with zonal officers and members of the WSSP planning wing. The attendees reviewed policy plans regarding the department’s expenses and the measures undertaken on this front.
To facilitate these measures, CEO Shah announced to set up a WSSP’s Transfer Station on Peshawar Ring Road. This proposed facility will feature a workshop, a parking space, a service station, and a fueling point. He also formed a committee and directed it to finalise the new map of the said facility and forward it to the Town Municipal Authority for its approval.
Moreover, he gave directions for the completion of the boundary wall of a waste dumping site. Sharing the WSSP’s plans to maintain cleanliness in Peshawar, Shah said that waste bins would be placed in commercial areas and plazas, while disilting of sewerage drains throughout the city would be ensured on a regular basis.
