In January, the contractor mobilised all its machinery and equipment. Workers completed the piling work, installation of tube wells, and excavation process of the two basements. They then proceeded with the preparatory work for the foundations of column footings, retaining walls, and underground water tank. They also initiated the execution work for the second basement.
In February, the workers cleaned and removed sand from the pile structure. Dressing, levelling, and compaction of the foundations followed the excavation process. They carried out the termite proofing on every footing before commencing with concrete pouring as properly-treated structures can resist termites for a much longer period. In a related development, the steel fixing of the water tank in the second basement and establishment of its firefighting system is underway.
Additionally, the testing laboratory is fully functional now and is performing various site-related tests according to the existing engineering practices.
