Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the sites of two major infrastructure projects in Islamabad — the T-Chowk Flyover and the Shaheen Chowk Underpass — to review construction progress and inspect ongoing development activities.
According to officials, the T-Chowk Flyover has reached nearly 60% completion and is expected to be opened to traffic by early December, while the Shaheen Chowk Underpass is scheduled for completion within the next month.
During the visit, Minister Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work but instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and relevant contractors to maintain round-the-clock operations to ensure timely delivery.

“There will be no compromise on quality or speed,” the minister emphasized, directing authorities to expedite progress without affecting construction standards.
Naqvi highlighted that the T-Chowk Flyover will provide a signal-free route from GT Road to Islamabad, significantly easing traffic congestion and improving urban mobility. He added that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass would further modernize the capital’s transport infrastructure and improve daily commutes for residents.
CDA’s Member Engineering briefed the minister on the current status of both projects, reaffirming that all available resources were being mobilized to meet the government’s completion targets.
Naqvi reiterated that relieving citizens from traffic problems remains a top priority, especially during school and peak traffic hours.
