Murree: The district administration has intensified efforts to improve the infrastructure and aesthetic appeal of Murree, with a focus on upgrading main roads, tourist routes, and public facilities to better serve both visitors and residents.
Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi has directed relevant departments to expedite development work aimed at enhancing the town’s overall appearance and functionality, particularly in high-traffic and tourist areas.
Following these instructions, the administration has launched a series of measures including repainting roadside structures, boundary walls, and key intersections to give the city a refreshed look. Work is also underway to restore and repaint streetlights to improve visibility and safety during nighttime hours.

Officials said that sanitation services are being strengthened across the town, while efforts are ongoing to remove encroachments and ensure smooth traffic flow on major routes, especially during peak tourist seasons.
The administration said the initiatives are aimed at preserving Murree’s natural beauty while improving basic civic facilities for the growing number of visitors. Enhancing infrastructure has been identified as a priority due to the consistent influx of domestic and international tourists.
Officials added that, in line with directives from the Government of Punjab, a broader modernization plan for Murree is being implemented at an accelerated pace. The plan includes upgrades to civic amenities, traffic management systems, and tourism-related services in accordance with modern standards.
Authorities expressed confidence that the ongoing development work will help transform Murree into a more organised, attractive, and safer tourist destination for both residents and visitors.
