Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) have agreed to jointly develop projects focused on tourism, entertainment, hospitality and other sectors in Islamabad.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Salik Hussain and senior officials from the CDA and EOBI attending.
The two organisations will combine their resources and expertise to develop projects aimed at enhancing Islamabad’s tourism potential, expanding recreational facilities, strengthening the hospitality sector and promoting investment.
CDA and EOBI have been directed to prepare a comprehensive joint development plan within 15 days, identifying priority projects, implementation strategies and investment opportunities.
A follow-up meeting, to be jointly chaired by Naqvi and Hussain, will review and finalise the proposed projects after the deadline. Implementation will begin after the projects receive final approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The initiative is aimed at improving Islamabad’s tourism and recreational infrastructure, supporting the hospitality industry and unlocking the development potential of public assets through collaboration between the two institutions.
