Islamabad: Lawmakers representing Islamabad have expressed support for the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) plans to address the city’s pressing civic and infrastructure needs, pledging to work together for the improvement of both urban and rural areas.
During a recent meeting, parliamentarians and CDA officials discussed a range of issues, including beautification drives, the expansion of public transport facilities, and the provision of clean drinking water. The lawmakers emphasised the need for balanced development across the capital’s sectors and surrounding villages, highlighting that rural areas often lag behind in access to basic amenities.

CDA officials briefed participants on ongoing and planned projects, noting efforts to accelerate road repairs, upgrade sewerage systems, and enhance green spaces. The authority also informed lawmakers about initiatives to digitise its services, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing public inconvenience.
Both sides agreed on setting up a monitoring mechanism to ensure timely completion of projects and to maintain transparency in the process. Lawmakers assured the CDA of their full cooperation, while calling for regular updates to keep the public informed about progress.
