Lahore: The City Traffic Police (CTP) Lahore shared its plan to improve the traffic flow for which it has identified 45 futile U-turns for closedown, a news source reported.
As per the publication, Chief Traffic Officer Lahore (CTO) Syed Hammad Abid said that the U-turns had been pinpointed in ‘10 Circles of the CTP’. He said that officials have written a letter to the Lahore commissioner regarding the said decision. The CTO further identified encroachments at 178 localities. Removal of these encroachments will take place with the assistance of the district administration, he said.
Previously, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar directed the concerned authorities to devise a master plan for efficient traffic management in the city. Following that, the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) announced in February that they were revising the city’s roads to avert traffic jams and congestions. In the first phase, Data Darbar Chowk, Bhati chowk, and Gamay Shah Chowk are to be remodelled for better flow.
