Officials said the proposed zero-tax hotel policy is intended to encourage investment from internationally reputed firms and promote the development of five-star hotels through joint ventures. The policy is expected to support tourism growth and improve hospitality infrastructure in the capital.
Progress on a five-star hotel project being developed in collaboration with the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) was also reviewed during the meeting.
In a parallel development, the meeting approved the establishment of a large-scale public park spanning 1,000 acres at the foothills of the Margalla Hills. The project is aimed at expanding recreational spaces in Islamabad and enhancing the city’s appeal as a model capital with international-standard public facilities.
The Interior Minister emphasized that Islamabad should be developed into a model city offering modern infrastructure, improved civic amenities, and enhanced recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
The meeting also decided to conduct a comprehensive survey of all land and properties in Islamabad through the Survey of Pakistan to improve record accuracy and transparency.
