Secretary Information Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani said the provincial government, following the vision of CM Maryam Nawaz, had formally initiated practical steps to ensure housing for the journalist community.
RUDA CEO Imran Amin stated that the authority was offering affordable residential plots for journalists on the instructions of the Punjab government. He added that living standards in the colony would be comparable to those in the Chahar Bagh Scheme.
Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Information Minister Azma Bokhari, noting that the initiative fulfilled a long-standing demand of the journalist community. He also emphasized the need to keep monthly installments reasonable, considering the low salaries and high unemployment within the media sector.
The project is expected to provide journalists with safe, modern, and affordable housing while promoting sustainable urban development in Lahore.
