Lahore: The federal government has approved the construction of two new interchanges to provide direct motorway access to the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP), also known as Ravi City — a flagship initiative of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA).
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan at the National Highway Authority’s (NHA) regional office. The meeting focused on aligning the RUDA master plan with national highway infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient connectivity.
According to RUDA officials, the newly approved interchanges will be built on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (LSM) Eastern Bypass and Motorway M-2, offering strategic and direct access routes to Ravi City. This development is expected to significantly improve traffic flow, enhance real estate value in the area, and support the broader urbanization goals of the project.

The interchanges are part of a larger vision to integrate major urban projects with national infrastructure, enabling smoother transit and boosting the long-term viability of mega-developments like RUDA’s Ravi Riverfront.
