Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved an increase in the minimum wage from Rs36,000 to Rs40,000 per month and sanctioned the purchase of 50 additional buses for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service.
The approvals were granted during the 38th meeting of the provincial cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Amin Khan Gandapur. Provincial ministers and administrative secretaries of various departments were also in attendance.

The cabinet gave the green light to establish what is set to become the country’s largest safari park in Nowshera. It also allocated 14,718 acres of land in Tank Band Peru to the Forest Department for afforestation projects.
The cabinet decided to increase the share of districts hosting dams and hydropower stations in net hydel profits from 10% to 15%. Amendments were approved to the Health Care Commission Rules, Women’s Commission Rules, and the Stamp Act of 1899.
