Lahore: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has approved a significant increase in the no-objection certificate (NOC) fee for housing societies in Lahore, doubling it from PKR 50,000 to PKR 100,000 per kanal.
The decision was taken during the PHA’s 27th Board of Directors (BoD) meeting on Friday, chaired by BoD Chairman Ghazali Saleem Butt. As part of the revised requirements, housing societies will also be required to plant at least two trees for every 10-marla plot and four trees for every one-kanal plot.

The board further approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, under which PHA will maintain green spaces in hospitals, while hospitals will provide quality medical services to PHA employees at discounted rates.
On the sports front, it was decided that five grounds will remain under the Pakistan Cricket Board’s management to promote sports, while the auction of 16 other grounds under PHA’s control was proposed.
Other key decisions included the purchase of a hydro seeder mulching machine, a 10% increase in park booking rates, and the launch of the “Adopt-a-Park” corporate social responsibility initiative. The board also approved a lease policy period of 10+10 years and decided that salaries for both regular and contractual employees will be paid by the first of every month.
