Lahore: The Lahore High Court instructed Walled City Director General to start repair of dilapidated buildings in the walled city, a news source reported. The Finance Secretary is to provide funds for the repair by July 20, as directed by the court.
During the proceeding, the court also demanded a report on operations carried out against the illegal construction activities in the neighbourhood. The report states that development work on 40 illegal buildings in the Walled City was forced stopped, among these were included five plaza were being constructed on land owned by the government. To this, the court ordered immediate evacuation of these plaza.
