Lahore: The Nawaz Sharif IT City (NSIT) in Lahore is set to host a state-of-the-art 300-bed hospital, officials confirmed following a special review meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday.
During the meeting, the chief minister reviewed progress on key development projects, including the Central Business District (CBD), Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) initiatives, and the ongoing construction at NSIT.
The proposed hospital will complement the campus, providing advanced medical facilities and serving as a teaching and research center. The IT Tower within NSIT is reported to be 78% complete, reflecting steady progress on the city’s infrastructure.

Maryam Nawaz also emphasized the need for timely completion of all development projects and instructed officials to submit quarterly progress reports. The RUDA Primary Dam on the Ravi River, aimed at protecting Lahore from potential floods, has been targeted for early completion, with Phase 1 of the Ravi Urban Development Project expected to be finished within two years.
The meeting also highlighted additional projects within NSIT, including Silicon City, University Block, and Film City, which have attracted interest from various domestic and international institutions. Chinese and Turkish companies have shown interest in the Entertainment City project, which will feature an 80-seater flying theatre.
Officials noted that these initiatives aim to combine modern urban planning, sustainable infrastructure, and international educational standards, positioning Lahore as a hub for innovation, education, and advanced healthcare.
