Islamabad: Pakistan is set to receive a ‘walk-through’ Corona testing machine from China next week, a news source quoted the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lt. General Muhammad Afzal as saying.
The equipment is scheduled to make its entry through the Khunjerab Bypass. The chairman shared this information during a press conference held yesterday. The large-sized walk through machine will allow for multiple scans in a short timeframe, he said.
According to Afzal, the machine will facilitate medical personnel in testing people in cities where the individual testing option is not feasible. He mentioned that the testing kits and equipment that are due to arrive in Pakistan from China will be distributed in all parts of the country as per requirement.
The number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Pakistan has jumped to 1,257 as of March 27. Out of this total, 440 cases have been reported in Sindh, 419 in Punjab, 147 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 131 in Balochistan, and 93 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
